This week at Madison:

Due to field conditions, Portland Parks & Rec has cancelled all games being played on their grass fields through Thursday, October 20. For this reason, the Men's JV2 vs Jefferson game will be POSTPONED to Monday, October 24, to be played on Jefferson's turf field at 4:15. This does not affect VARSITY games which are played on turf. For more information, please call PIL Athletics at 503-916-3223.

JV Football plays at home Monday, with Women's Soccer at home Tuesday and their Senior Night game on Thursday. 

The Madison Stadium lights are fixed! Therefore, for Thursday, 10/20:

Women's soccer will be played as follows: Both games to be played at Madison Stadium JV @ 5:15, VARSITY @ 7:00 SENIOR NIGHT GAME (or after warm-ups, if previous game gets delayed by injury, etc.). 

Men's Soccer @ Roosevelt HS with JV @ 5:00, (bus departs Madison at 3:00 pm) and VARSITY @ 7:00, (bus departs Madison at 5:15).

Madison has a new Cheer coach--any students interested in joining the team are invited to attend a lunchtime meeting on FRIDAY, OCT. 21 to learn more!


Welcome to Madison Athletics. On our site you'll find resources necessary to compete for Madison High School. All players must be cleared BEFORE the first day of practice with a physical or update form, guidelines and policies contract, and a blue card present in the Athletics Office. You'll also find contact information for our coaches.  Go Senators!

How to be cleared to participate in Athletics at Madison:

1. A Physical Examination Form be on file in the Athletic Office (above the Gym stairs). Physical Examination Form must be dated within two calendar years of Start Date. A link to this form can be found under the Registration Tab above. Or by clicking "physical" hyperlink.

2. Medical History Update Form. Students with physicals older than one calendar year from listed Start Date must fill out a Medical History Update Form. Students with Physical Examination Forms dated within the last calendar year DO NOT have to complete this form. A link to these forms can be found above under the registration tab, or by clicking "Medical History" hyperlink.. Please turn Medical History Update form into the athletic office

3. Code of Conduct Form. Signatures are required from both athlete and parent/guardian. This only needs to be turned in once each year and is good for all sports during the school year. A link to this form can be found above under registration tab, or by clicking "physical" hyperlink.. Please turn Code of Conduct Form into the athletic office 

4. Athletes also need a Blue Emergency Card; A new Blue Card must be filled out for each sport during the school year. Signature is required from parent/guardian. You cannot participate in a tryout or practice unless the coach has your Blue Card in hand. They are not available online but can be found in the Main Office or on the desk outside the Athletic Office. Turn the Blue Emergency Card into the athletic office.

5. Pay the PIL Participation Fee after tryouts conclude for cut sports. The fee is $35 per sport Please mark down student-athlete name and sport on memo section of check. Make check payable to Madison HS and turn into the Bookkeeper in room B5. Do not turn into the athletic office



  • Turn these into the athletic office:  Physical, Parent Consent, Code of Conduct, Medical History Update, Blue Card
  • Turn this into room B5: PIL fee (after tryouts)
  • Submit all forms by the Friday before the listed Start Date

Find important info for trying-out for a winter sport

Want to try-out for a winter sport at Madison High School?

First, you need to be cleared before the start of practice. Please complete all paperwork under the registration tab. 

Try-outs: Monday, November 14. 

Sports Offered: Basketball (boys' and girls'); Wrestling; Swimming (boys' and girls'). 

Girls Basketball: 3:30-6PM, Gym.

Boys' Basketball: 5:30-8, Gym

Wrestling 3:30-6 Wrestling Room

Swimming: TBD
